Sycamore Class have been developing their techniques, including their control and their use of materials, with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design. The children have used a range of materials such as paint and pastels. In geography they have been learning about how the river shapes the land. The children learnt about V-shaped valleys and how the water erodes soft rock, also how waterfalls are formed. In history they have learnt what happened to Egyptian bodies when they died. They learnt all about embalming and mummification! In geography Sycamore have learnt about meanders in rivers. The children demonstrated what a meander in rivers look like by modelling this with their stationary. The children then wrote how a river meets the sea.
