Chestnut Class have been busy adding fractions to mixed numbers in maths and finding out about Octavian during their history topic on The Roman Empire.
Chestnut have had great discussions in reading time about choices authors make. Our Maths learning has focused on adding fractions to mixed numbers. We have been confidently learning about fractions for a few weeks now. The children have shown a super knowledge of how to add and subtract fractions by converting fractions so they have a common denominator. Our History learning has been about Octavian who was a commander in the Roman Empire. We've explored all his ‘cunning’ behaviour and learned about how he rose to power. Octavian was the nephew of Julius Caesar who the children learned about last week.
