Every child is unique and develops and matures in an individual way.  The following information is given as a general guide for parents and recognises the need for children to develop greater independence as they move through the school.  It is for parents to decide what drop off and collection arrangements are most appropriate to their child's age and stage of development. Please discuss this with your child and their Class Teacher so that they are clear about these.

Year 1-6 children can go into their classrooms from 8:40 a.m. to make sure they are calm and ready to start learning when the school day begins at 8:50 a.m.  We would ask that younger children are brought to their playground and make their way into their classroom on their own in order to develop their independence.  Children in Year 5 and 6 may begin to make their own way into school but should not be on the school site before 8:40 a.m.  Foundation Stage children go into their classroom at 8.50am. Willow Nursery and Woodford Methodist Pre-School offer before school care and will make sure that your child is brought to their classroom by 8:50 a.m. daily.

The school day ends at 3:20 p.m. Younger children should be collected by parents from outside their classrooms, or another person with prior notice given to the teacher.  Children in Year 5 and 6 may meet parents/carers at a pre-arranged point either within the school site or by one of the three school gates.  We encourage any child who has not been collected or met shortly after the end of the school day, to return to their classroom where their Teacher or Teaching Assistant will make contact with their parents/carers.
