Helping the Homeless

Paige K, in Year 2 decided, a couple of months ago, to collect food and toiletries that she could donate to a homeless charity. She planned to collect 100 items, including tinned food, pasta, rice, soap, shower gel and conditioner. Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, members of the Pine class and Paige herself (using her own money), she was able to take the first 117 items to Help the Homeless National Ltd on Wednesday. They posted on Facebook saying "Talking with Paige and her sister showed a real compassion for the cause. I'm really touched by the way you parents are teaching children to love, to feel respect and want to help". If you would like to donate an item there will be a box outside the Pine classroom. What a lovely thing to do.
