Woodford Primary School

Year 5 and 6 attended MediFest at the Guildhall, Plymouth, to look at a variety of exhibitors who were displaying new technology in the medical career world. The children tried using virtual reality headsets to simulate dealing with medical injuries; saw 3D models of the brain; found out about how organisations help with healthy lifestyles as well as what can be done to overcome social isolation and bereavement. They also had a go at resuscitation using the latest defibrillation systems. Hopefully the morning has broadened their minds to the possibility of a career in the medical field. Please ask your child about the visit and what they liked best and why.
