Tuesday - Safer Internet Day

This year in the UK, Safer Internet Day explores reliability online. The internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities online, but how do we separate fact from fiction?

First, watch the virtual assembly. Next, reflect on this years theme of 'An internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world' and complete the Internet Detectives activity sheet.

If you want to learn more about staying safe online, you might like to try this BBC live lesson.

Below are some further resources to support parents with internet safety.

Wednesday - Computing

In our last lesson, we turned our project design ideas into code to create a game. Building on this, we will now spend this final lesson finishing and refining our games. Please use this time to make any finishing touches to your game on Scratch and then post some pictures or videos on Dojo of your finished project! This link will take you to the Scratch website.

You can find last week's lesson here, if you need a reminder. If you have finished your game and would like to further improve and refine it, you might like to try this lesson

Coding Challenge: Finally, to finish off this unit of learning, we have a challenge for you. You can put your coding skills to the test here. There are 10 levels to complete and each level gets gradually more difficult. If anyone can complete level 9, they can have 5 Dojo points. If you can complete level 10, you will earn 10 Dojo points!

Thursday - Learning Reflection

We would like you to use this opportunity to look back through your portfolio on Dojo and share with us some learning that you are really proud of. Which piece did you enjoy completing most? Which do you think is your best learning and why?

Whilst you are looking back through your portfolio, please also check if there are any questions or feedback we have provided that you have not responded to. If you find anything, please take this time to respond to us. Those of you who have responded to feedback at the time of receiving it will not need to do this.

Following this, you could catch up on any chapters from The Last Wild that you haven't listened to yet. If you haven't got around to this at all yet, you will find chapter 1 here. We are currently up to chapter 16. This might also be a nice thing to catch up on over half term.

Friday - Friendship Day

This will be a special theme day called 'Friendship Friday'. It will be a day to connect the children together (virtually) and have some fun as a class.  The children will be creating some friendship themed art throughout the day and will then have chance to share their finished pieces with each other over a Teams get together in the afternoon. Please see full instructions and resources for this day below.

As part of this, we are also encouraging children and families to take part in the 'Bottle Moments' children's competition, which is helping children to draw their dreams after lockdown and be creative. For more information, please follow the link: https:// www.bottlemoments.com/covid-19-kids.
