The role of a Local Advisory Board is an important one. The Local Advisory Board monitors the school's key performance indicators and acts as a critical friend to the Headteacher and the senior leadership team, providing challenge where appropriate. They attend meetings and visit the school regularly to be able to:
Talk knowledgably about teaching, learning and assessment
Know their academy and its pupils, staff and parents
Systematically challenge leaders
Consistently communicate high expectations and ambitions
Ask probing questions and have a clear commitment to challenge effectively
Regularly review the school's and their own performance
To demonstrate this, the Governors have compiled a working portfolio which contains evidence and examples of their work which is held in the school. An online version will be posted here shortly.
